MYRRDIN

Ay uP

I am very excited to show you the first pictures of an amazing sword that has been made for a film that is currently being written. I have been helping out with photography of possible locations and props over the past year and I can't wait for the filming to start in 2014. The team on board so far are truly talented people which are making it very easy for me to feel inspired.
So here are some words from the creators and a recent photo shoot I have done for the sword to give you an idea of what is coming.

Enjoy.

A HERO's SWORD FOR CELTIC FILM "MYRRDIN"

The film MYRRDIN is inspired by the celtic tales which are the foundation for so many later stories. In his early years J.R.R. Tolkien read extensively of these tales. The much later legends of Arthur and Merlin were also based on the same writings.

“It is dark ages Briton, the Romans have left and the last of the Celtic tribes are on the verge of extinction from the advancing Saxons. Led by King Vortigern, the Celts have been beaten back to the gates of the mountains in the west, their last stronghold, Dinas Affaraon. In reality the power behind the throne is a corrupt and evil priest, Aberthol, who dominates the now ailing King. Yet, unknown to the world of men, salvation is at hand, for a long forgotten prophecy is unfolding, foretelling the meeting of a great wizard, Myrrdin and a young warrior, Culhwch. The two are bound together in a shared destiny to realise the eternal champion, the One King, to save their peoples.”

The film is an independent film production based in Sheffield and will not only promote Sheffield but also be a showcase for local talent.

Shooting will begin in the Summer of 2014 with release early 2015.
